Consider the following:
I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command. Half of the things you do you might as well turn over to me and I will do them – quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed – you must be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done and after a few lessons, I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of great people, and alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine though I work with the precision of a machine plus the intelligence of a person.
You may run me for profit or run me for ruin – it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet.
Be easy with me and I will destroy you.
Who am I? I am Habit. (author unknown)
In your gut, you know it’s true.
For good or for bad, habits are destiny. Habits are the compound interest of life . . . Given enough time, the results can be dramatic.
However, most people are bad at embedding the right habits in their lives. Yet, if you do habits right, it’s like great design, it frees you from the clutter to just be awesome. Think about it, your health is the foundation, your wealth enables freedom, and your knowledge is power. This site will not only teach about these habits, but will also teach you how to do them step-by-step.
Do you set goals to get in shape and then quit after a week? Do you live paycheck to paycheck and constantly stress about how to make ends meet? Do you feel like you are just getting busier, but not getting anywhere that matters to you? I’m sure all of us have been through at least one, if not all of these scenarios. I know I have. It’s not a good feeling. It’s like climbing a sandy hill with a 30 pound backpack on (I’ve tried this). You take one step and slide back to where you started. It’s both tiring and discouraging. Life can feel that way too sometimes.
A Better Way
However, sometimes you catch a glimpse of a better way. Maybe it’s someone you know that seems to “just have it together.” They’re in shape. They appear to have money under control. They are moving forward with energy and enthusiasm. In short, they seem to be living “the good life.” It’s tempting to just assume they were “luckier” than you—or that they are just more talented. Certainly we all start this life with different advantages and disadvantages. However, what you do with what you have also plays a big role. It’s hard to take responsibility for where you are. It’s easier to blame circumstances.
Habits Make the Difference
The good news is that for the majority of us, habits are “hackable.” Learn how they work, and you will literally become be a habit master. Some habits will be harder than others, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
“Take me, train me, be firm with me, and I will place the world at your feet.
Be easy with me and I will destroy you.”
Which approach are you going to take?
Yes, I like the idea of having the world at my feet. I’ll sign up for the email list so I don’t miss out.
No thanks, living the good life is over-rated. I’ll go back to surfing cat videos.
OK, still here? Let’s dive in. I recommend you read in order because this is a progression.
